After touring the world with major productions like Ringling Bros Circus. and working as a cruise ship musician, he founded Musical Getaways to connect travelers with authentic, music-focused experiences. Chaz has built lasting collaborations across Cuba, Colombia, Brazil, and beyond, curating immersive tours that celebrate local artists and traditions. He now splits his time between the U.S. and Latin America, continuing to perform, produce music, and lead unforgettable cultural adventures

Yami Cabrera
Co-Director & Musician Tour Leader
Yami Cabrera is a Cuban musicologist with a passion for connecting people to culture through music and travel. After studying Musicology at the University of the Arts of Cuba, she found a path that blends the arts with creative marketing through Musical Getaways and Havana Music Tours. Yami focuses mainly on marketing, content creation, and sharing authentic musical experiences with the world. She also supports customer service, logistics, and helps design underground cultural itineraries, always working from a musicologist’s perspective to highlight the real spirit behind every journey.

Ismelys
Tour LEader / Logistics Manager Cuba
Ismelys is a Cuban musician, music teacher, tour leader, and event producer based in Havana. Trained in oboe performance, ensemble practice, and music theory education, she brings a deep knowledge of Cuban music and culture to every tour. In addition to leading tours for Havana Music Tours and Musical Getaways, she helps organize music events across Havana, connecting travelers to the rhythms, traditions, and spirit of Cuba.

A choir director and music professor trained at Cuba’s University of the Arts, he has dedicated his career to sharing the richness of Cuban music and culture. As a performer, educator, and tour leader, he brings deep knowledge and authenticity to every experience, connecting people to the heart of Cuba through its rhythms, stories, and traditions.

Lydia is a multi-discipline artist and ethnomusicologist with a focus on Japanese music and culture, but with a passion for global arts and travel. As a shakuhachi player, she uses music to explore arts and intimacy, sound healing, trance and altered states of consciousness, and ecomusicology. A talented musician and creative storyteller, she lets that belief guide everything she creates. Finding new and powerful ways to connect travelers with the heart and rhythm of each destination.

A passionate percussionist and lifelong student of Brazilian music, he blends his background in international relations and human resources with a deep love for rhythm, culture, and storytelling. Whether on stage or guiding guests through the streets of Rio, he invites travelers to experience Brazil’s musical heritage as family, where every beat of Choro, Samba, and Bossa Nova tells a story worth sharing.
