This exclusive long-weekend experience focuses on the final days of the festival, combining selected performances with time to explore Rioja’s vineyards, historic towns, and culinary traditions.
Musical Getaways is an official collaborator of the La Rioja Festival, allowing us to coordinate premium seating and curated experiences around the performance schedule.

Why the Final Weekend
The closing days of the festival bring together some of the most anticipated concerts of the program.
For travelers with limited time, the final weekend offers a concentrated way to experience the artistic vision of the festival while still enjoying the broader cultural life of La Rioja.
Days are spent visiting vineyards, exploring historic towns, and sharing meals built around Rioja’s cuisine and wines, while evenings are dedicated to festival performances in some of the region’s most beautiful venues.
Sample Itinerary
This long-weekend journey focuses on the final days of the La Rioja Festival, combining concerts, wine culture, historic architecture, and the landscapes of northern Spain.
Guests arrive independently in Logroño, the capital of La Rioja, and home base for the festival. After hotel check-in and time to settle in, the group gathers for a welcome orientation introducing the region, the festival program, and the musical traditions of northern Spain. In the evening, we attend our first La Rioja Festival performance in one of the historic venues that define the festival, followed by a relaxed welcome dinner in Logroño’s historic center to begin exploring Rioja’s celebrated cuisine and wines.
The day begins with a visit to one of Rioja’s renowned family-owned wineries for an introduction to the region’s winemaking traditions and a guided tasting. During the afternoon, explore the surrounding countryside, where vineyards, historic villages, and dramatic landscapes define the region. In the evening, we attend another La Rioja Festival concert in one of the region’s historic churches or cultural venues before returning to Logroño.
Today’s excursion travels to San Millán de la Cogolla, home to the UNESCO-listed monasteries of Yuso and Suso and often considered the birthplace of the Spanish language. After exploring the monastery complex and enjoying a festival performance or cultural activity in the area, the group returns to Logroño. In the afternoon, we take a short walk along the Camino de Santiago as it passes through the historic center, offering a glimpse into the centuries-old pilgrimage tradition before attending one of the festival’s headline concerts in the evening and enjoying tapas on Logroño’s famous Calle Laurel.
The final full day explores more of La Rioja’s cultural landscape with a visit to the Vivanco Wine Culture Museum, one of the most important wine museums in Europe. The journey then continues to the historic mountain village of Ezcaray, known for its medieval streets and culinary traditions, where we attend another festival concert and enjoy time exploring the village’s tapas bars. In the evening, the group returns to Logroño for a farewell dinner celebrating the final days of the festival.
After breakfast, guests depart Logroño. For those continuing their travels, optional extensions can be arranged to destinations such as Madrid, San Sebastián, Bilbao, or Barcelona.

The La Rioja Festival offers a distinctive way to experience classical music in northern Spain. Rather than taking place in a single concert hall, performances are held across historic churches, monasteries, cultural centers, and wineries throughout the region.
This format allows visitors to experience great music within the landscapes and traditions that shape it. Between concerts, travelers can explore Rioja’s vineyards, historic towns, and regional cuisine, making the festival as much about place and culture as it is about the performances themselves.
