Sample Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Seville

Meet your tour leader in Seville and settle into your accommodation. This first day is intentionally kept light, allowing time to rest after travel or explore the city at your own pace.

The afternoon and evening are free.

Day 2: An Evening Walk Through Seville

Enjoy a free morning and afternoon in Seville before gathering in the early evening for a guided walk through the historic center. Moving through plazas, patios, and narrow streets, the walk introduces the city’s long-standing relationship with flamenco as part of everyday life.

Day 3: From Seville to Jerez de La Frontera

Depart Seville in the morning and travel through the Andalusian countryside toward Jerez. The day includes a stop in Utrera, where flamenco traditions developed outside major urban centers, with the option to enjoy artisanal food and wine.

In the evening, stop in Lebrija for a Gitano flamenco gathering held in a small, intimate setting. Local artists perform in a shared space before continuing on to Jerez.

Day 4: Jerez and Its Surroundings

Begin the day with a private visit to a flamenco house in Jerez. Spend the morning with an artist through a guided session or class, followed by an intimate performance held in a domestic environment.

The afternoon is free, with the option to visit a local bodega for a guided introduction to the region’s sherry production. The evening is free for rest, conversation, or a quiet dinner in town.

Day 5: Excursion to Cádiz

Travel from Jerez to Cádiz for a day focused on history, music, and coastal life. A walking tour of the old town introduces key sites and offers context on the city’s role within Andalusian cultural exchange.

There is time to explore independently, walk along the waterfront, or pause in a café before returning to Jerez in the late afternoon or early evening.

Day 6: Farewell

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at your accommodation before preparing for departure.

As the journey comes to a close, take time to reflect on the places visited, the people met, and the shared experiences that shaped the week.

Important Itinerary Notes & Travel Pace

Itinerary Structure & Flexibility

The itinerary shown above is a sample outline intended to demonstrate the overall flow, experiences, and inclusions of the tour. Specific days and the order of activities may vary depending on departure dates, the availability of family-based lineages for private sessions, and local event schedules. Lower Andalusia is a region where rural traditions and urban performances are deeply intertwined, requiring us to remain adaptable to the natural rhythm of local life.

We plan carefully and remain flexible, always prepared with multiple contingency options to ensure a meaningful musical and cultural experience. While minor adjustments may occur, the core components of the sample itinerary—including the exploration of Jerez, Utrera, and the coastal history of Cádiz—reflect what we fully intend to deliver on each tour. Final, date-specific itineraries are shared closer to departure..

Live Music Disclaimer

Because this journey focuses on flamenco as a living practice, performance and gathering schedules are often fluid. Changes in set times, specific artist lineups, or designated domestic venues are part of the reality of exploring music in its social and functional form. This applies particularly to the intimate Gitano gatherings in Lebrija and the private sessions held in the residential neighborhoods of Jerez de la Frontera.

When these shifts occur, we work closely with our local partners and flamenco historians to provide equally compelling alternatives. We remain committed to navigating these changes to maintain the academic and creative integrity of the tour, ensuring you witness the authentic technical communication between performers.

Travel Pace & Activity Level

This tour is moderately paced and follows an intentional movement from urban centers to the intimate spaces of the Andalusian countryside. Expect regular walking, including guided tours through the historic centers of Seville and Cádiz, as well as the narrow streets and plazas of interior towns. Guests should also expect getting in and out of vehicles during travel between regional hubs and spending time in various domestic and social environments.

While this is not a high-intensity or athletic tour, it does require a comfortable level of mobility and the endurance typical of immersive regional travel. This includes the ability to navigate uneven historic pavement, walk through vineyard grounds during bodega visits, and remain active during evening cultural exchanges and traditional gatherings.

Accessibility & Private Tours

If you have mobility considerations, accessibility needs, or prefer a slower or more customized pace, we strongly recommend inquiring about a private tour. Given that many historic Andalusian venues, private flamenco houses, and ancient old towns include stairs, steep paths, and limited elevator access, private tours allow us to tailor the itinerary, transportation, and activity level to best suit your needs while preserving the spirit of the experience.
