Sample Itinerary
Arrive in Rio de Janeiro and transfer to your 4-star hotel in Copacabana or Ipanema. Settle in, enjoy a stroll along the beach, or relax before the evening. That night, we’ll gather for a traditional Brazilian welcome dinner at a local churrascaria, getting to know your guides, hosts, and fellow travelers.
After breakfast, we’ll begin exploring the cultural roots of Rio with a guided walking tour through the “Little Africa” district. You’ll learn about Rio’s Afro-Brazilian heritage, with meaningful stops at the Afro-Brazilian Museum, Pedra do Sal, and more. After an authentic lunch, enjoy some free time to rest or explore on your own. In the evening, we’ll head out to experience Rio’s vibrant nightlife with live music at a local venue. An unforgettable way to soak up the city’s rhythm and soul.
Spend the day immersed in Rio’s Carnival culture. We’ll visit a samba workshop or backstage Carnaval factory to see how floats, costumes, and choreography come to life. In the evening, we’ll head to a live music venue curated by our local musician hosts—featuring samba-funk, choro, or samba jazz.
Today we’ll join a local bloco, one of the thousands of vibrant street parties that make Carnival such a unique and unforgettable celebration. The afternoon is yours to relax, explore the city, or enjoy the beach. We’ll provide a few optional suggestions, and you’ll have the evening free.
Enjoy a relaxed morning and afternoon at your leisure. In the evening, we’ll head together to the Sambadrome, where you’ll experience the grandeur of Carnival from the included grandstand seats. VIP lounge upgrade available upon request.

Itinerary Structure & Flexibility
The itinerary shown above is a sample outline intended to demonstrate the overall flow, experiences, and inclusions of the tour. Specific days and the order of activities may vary depending on departure dates, the official Rio Carnival 2027 parade schedule, and local event availability. Rio de Janeiro is a dynamic city during festival season, and street bloco timings or rehearsal access can shift unexpectedly due to local logistics or weather.
We plan carefully and remain flexible, always prepared with multiple contingency options to ensure a meaningful musical and cultural experience. While minor adjustments may occur, the experiences outlined in the sample itinerary—including the Sambadrome parade and Little Africa cultural tours—reflect what we fully intend to deliver. Final, date-specific itineraries are shared closer to departure.
Live Music Disclaimer
Because authentic Carnival culture is central to this program, performance and street party schedules are often fluid. Changes in set times, specific artist lineups, or designated parade venues are part of the reality of a city celebrating its largest annual festival. When these shifts occur, we work closely with local partners and musician hosts to provide equally compelling alternatives. We remain committed to navigating these changes to maintain the creative integrity of your Rio music experience.
Travel Pace & Activity Level
This tour is moderately paced and designed for travelers who enjoy being active in high-energy urban environments. Expect regular walking, including guided tours through historic districts and standing for several hours during street blocos or at the Sambadrome. Guests should also expect getting in and out of vehicles, navigating stairs in crowded areas, and spending time outdoors in a humid, tropical summer climate.
While this is not a high-intensity or athletic tour, it does require a comfortable level of mobility and the endurance typical of immersive city travel. This includes the ability to walk approximately 3 to 5 miles daily and remain active during late-night festivities.
Accessibility & Private Tours
If you have mobility considerations, accessibility needs, or prefer a slower or more customized pace, we strongly recommend inquiring about a private tour. Given that many historic Rio venues and crowded Carnival street routes include uneven sidewalks, steep paths, and limited elevator access, private tours allow us to tailor the itinerary, transportation, and activity level to best suit your needs while preserving the spirit of the experience.
